I use my Smart Phone everyday for the Apps to make me a more productive salesman. There are Application that you can scan a prospect business card and email you back to the office to store in your CRM Software. The Adobe Reader App, you can store important documents like Credit Application, Brochures and Specs of your products…email straight out of your smart phone when the customer ask at your appointment or on your way out of the appointment. So while the prospects are on the way back to their desk…the documents are in their email inbox. The YouTube App that you can video your products in HD and upload straight from your Smart Phone. All your Social Networks has Apps that you can access on your Smart Phone…Use the Technology!!! Another great App is the Voice Recorder app to give you reminders and record important messages. To do list Apps are a great way to be more productive and knock the things off your list.

Another Great Application is Google Drive, where you can store documents, pictures, videos, and much more. You can add this to your Desktop company at work, home and on Smart Phone….and them be able to share all the information on all the devices. It works Great!!!!

That just a couple great apps to my you a more productive salesman. There are 10s of 1000 much more.

I have use other email marketing programs and have not had success.  The one that I am using now is Constant Contact.  What I like about it…that it has the capabilities to share to all my Social Networks by the push of the button.  Plus it tracks the clicks in your email template.  If I was you I have them design your email template after your  website, so all the clicks in your email is track back track to your company website.  And what I mean by tracks, it comes with it own analytics.  To be successful with an email marketing plan you need to make it in engaging and inviting for the customers to contact you.  So try it out…you can’t lose.

To be ahead of the curve is to be very productive.  What I mean is contacting prospects and customers all time with specials and new products.  If you use your CRM Software…..You will be very successful….I know you have heard that from me before but you need to do it and try it.  I use the ACT Sage Software for years and still being very successful.  Here some thoughts on being productive:

  • Be in front of customers…(they also know their competition)
  • Use Social Media to Sell and Promote your products (LinkedIN)
  • Create a great List of Prospect and Customers (CRM Software)

  • Create a Direct Mailing Strategy
  • Create a Great Website with a Blog
  • Create a Squeeze Page Website (to collect email addresses for Email Mailing List)
  • Create a Fan Page on Facebook for Like Minded People
  • Create an Industrial Group on LinkedIN
  • Create a Marketing Plan for Classified Sites
  • Look in to a Pay per Click Campaign
  • Create a Company Youtube Channel
  • USE ALL THE TECHNOLOGY TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To be the best you need to listen to your customer’s want and needs.  When you talk to them ask questions–How’s business, How’s the family, What the future look like and so on.  Show that you care about them as a business partner and friends.  Because without customers…YOU DON’T HAVE A BUSINESS.  So be nice and helpful through all aspects.

As a salesman, you should start your own blog.  Expand the daily task of your life in a blog.  A successful salesman would put a blog together about the benefits of his/her products.  For example, I have a blog about heavy equipment, and heavy equipment parts.  Again don’t always sell on your blog.  Give opinions and advice!!!!  A blog is an online journal so use it to your advantage.

One of the best ways that I found to build a WordPress Blog on my own domain is having a Bluehost account.  They give you one free domain with purchase of the server for a year or more.  I never had any problems with them.  I have call customer service before and they are great.  Bluehost is a great company.  So go open a Bluehost account and START BLOGGING!!!!

To be successful in blogging is to be everywhere also…Create a Blogger/Blogspot, Weebly, and HubPages.  Remember to be successful in sales in today world you need to be everywhere.  And I can’t predict where Google will pick up your sites and put it in the search engine for ranking, so you can be found.  Just remember unique content on each different websites…I know it is a lot of work, but it will pay off.  Content, Content, Content.

Telemarketing for salesman can be challenging and rewarding the same time.  You can call, call, and call and not get anyone on the phone.  If you don’t succeed, keep trying till you get a yes.  I know everybody says that, but it is the truth.  Also what I do is keep calling some of the same prospects for years before they become a customer.  You can’t expect everybody to become a customer on the first call.  Keep great records with your CRM software.  Keep calling and following up with prospects and customers.  It works.

A Successful Salesman

To be a successful salesman, you need to consider your family. You would not be where your at if you did not have a great supportive family. Family comes first in life for a very successful salesman. For instance, I did not post a Daily Sales Snippet because my son wanted to play Angry Birds on the Xbox. Life is to short….Enjoy it and the riches will come.
