How can you market your business the best? By online online marketing…yes that is correct. One of the best ways is content marketing…by blogging and writing articles by creating a brand for you. For example, we have create a brand of selling heavy equipment, parts, rentals and service. When you do these things this create inbound marketing..which will create the phone to ring and emails coming in for quotes. Don’t be scare of the Internet of you will be passed up by your competitors.

So the best way to learn how to blog is to create a Blogger/Blogspot site which is free from Google. Learn the basic from that by create content, add picture, and much more. After mastering that you should learn how to use WordPress…(the free one on WordPress.com)…after mastering that then you are ready to Host your own website. I use Bluehost….and then I upload a template of WordPress…by learning the previous online free service you already know what to do on your website. The greatest thing about Bluehost is that it make it simple, with Simple Scripts. Basically shows you how to do it. A Salesman keeps educating themselves

What I mean about that is alway keep learning.  I listen to podcasts about Salesmanship, marketing, internet marketing, entrepreneurs, Wall Street Journal for Small Business and much more to make me have positive thinking in my life.  Also another trait of learning is reading a great books, like “Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in no time flat”  by Michael Masterson which I purchased at Amazon.   This is a great book to read…for a start up or an existing business that wants to go to the next level.  Like I always stress in my blog posts that sales and marketing are very important.  In the book Michael explains that you always need to be selling your products or services.  From a small business to a multimillion dollar company.   What is the that old says…”ALWAYS BE SELLING”.

As a Salesman you should always have goals in sales and your life.  For example, selling two excavators a month, to achieve the money that you want to produce for 2013.  And also have life goals with family, like a fun filled vacation at Walt Disney World.  All great goals or resolutions are achievable.  The best way to achieve these goals is very  loyal to your CRM Software…and I mean everyday open up and call some customers and prospects.  Keep calling those prospects that can be customers in the future.  So if you are new salesman….then get organize by buying a CRM Software Products like Act by Sage Software.  Go out and sell.

Be a Honest Salesman with a Winning Attitude

A great salesman with a honest and winning attitude will always win in the long run.  Remember if you have a product malfunction, be honest and help them.  You don’t want to sell your customer once, you want to sell them multiple times.  So be honest…customers will always come back.  Also a thing that I do is do the unexpected…give them a credit for downtime or a credit on their invoice.  Be ahead of the curve…a lot of companies don’t do anything.

What I mean about the Winning Attitude is to be very positive in taking care of your customers and be honest.

When talking to prospects and customers…you need to shut up and listen.  One of the number one problems is salesman does not listen on appointments…they do all the talking.  You need to ask questions that prospects will do all the talking.   Sit there and don’t talk.  Here is a great video “what not to do”!!!!

What I mean by that is that you need to motivate yourself to do your job.  You will get No, No, No and more.  But a great salesman will knock it off their shoulders and move to the next Yes.  You need to keep motivating yourself to success.  Listen to great Audio Books and/or podcasts.  Don’t give up…keep pushing forward for a yes.  If you are not having luck on the phone today then go outside for a walk or go in the field to go Door Knocking.  Sales is fun and challenging…Enjoy!!!!

To be a great salesman, you need to understand how the internet can help you.  By learning the basics in Internet Marketing…it can create you to become a Selling Machine.  By doing video marketing..you can sell you products with a informational video.  By blogging you can create an expert forum by your industry.  By doing social media marketing you can create a Fan page of individuals with the same interests.  Internet Marketing is very power.

What I mean about a internet marketing workshop is that you have to learn the tools of the trade.  It takes work but in the long run you will make money from the internet. I use my Smart Phone everyday for the Apps to make me a more productive salesman. There are Application that you can scan a prospect business card and email you back to the office to store in your CRM Software. The Adobe Reader App, you can store important documents like Credit Application, Brochures and Specs of your products…email straight out of your smart phone when the customer ask at your appointment or on your way out of the appointment. So while the prospects are on the way back to their desk…the documents are in their email inbox. The YouTube App that you can video your products in HD and upload straight from your Smart Phone. All your Social Networks has Apps that you can access on your Smart Phone…Use the Technology!!! Another great App is the Voice Recorder app to give you reminders and record important messages. To do list Apps are a great way to be more productive and knock the things off your list.

Another Great Application is Google Drive, where you can store documents, pictures, videos, and much more. You can add this to your Desktop company at work, home and on Smart Phone….and them be able to share all the information on all the devices. It works Great!!!!

That just a couple great apps to my you a more productive salesman. There are 10s of 1000 much more.

Become an Email Marketing Salesman

I have use other email marketing programs and have not had success.  The one that I am using now is Constant Contact.  What I like about it…that it has the capabilities to share to all my Social Networks by the push of the button.  Plus it tracks the clicks in your email template.  If I was you I have them design your email template after your  website, so all the clicks in your email is track back track to your company website.  And what I mean by tracks, it comes with it own analytics.  To be successful with an email marketing plan you need to make it in engaging and inviting for the customers to contact you.  So try it out…you can’t lose.
