One of the best methods to drive traffic to a website is Content…by writing articles or blog posts on your website. Fresh original content keeps your website up to date with the search engines. But you ask me….what kind of content…Ask question like a frequent asked question section…for example, What is the difference between a Cat Dozer vs. John Deere Dozer. Maybe some of your customers might want to know….Answer the questions in blog posts on your website. It should work for your advantage.

Another way to put content on the Internet is to guest post on other relevant blogs with a link back to your blog. Again make sure it is a relevant respond to their article so it will not get deleted. This should drive more traffic to you and your blog. Try it and get back to me.

How can you market your business the best? By online online marketing…yes that is correct. One of the best ways is content marketing…by blogging and writing articles by creating a brand for you. For example, we have create a brand of selling heavy equipment, parts, rentals and service. When you do these things this create inbound marketing..which will create the phone to ring and emails coming in for quotes. Don’t be scare of the Internet of you will be passed up by your competitors.

So the best way to learn how to blog is to create a Blogger/Blogspot site which is free from Google. Learn the basic from that by create content, add picture, and much more. After mastering that you should learn how to use WordPress…(the free one on WordPress.com)…after mastering that then you are ready to Host your own website. I use Bluehost….and then I upload a template of WordPress…by learning the previous online free service you already know what to do on your website. The greatest thing about Bluehost is that it make it simple, with Simple Scripts. Basically shows you how to do it. What I mean about Cold Calling with Gifts is bringing accessories or trinkets to customers or prospects that to remind them that you are still there for them for rentals, PM, sales, services, hauling and much more (a example what I do–heavy equipment).  This keep a fresh look at you and them for the future business.  Again having a face with a voice.  Even though the customers that I have seen in the past week…they know me…giving them a face once awhile help the selling process for all future relations.  Plus it always fun to give gifts to your customers.  This is a must in sales…GO SEE YOUR CUSTOMERS IN FACE TO FACE CONSERVATION.  Also keep in touch with them by phone.

Sorry I haven’t been around for a far…with the Holidays and Family in town I have been busy.  But I haven’t stop internet marketing with different tools like Youtube.  Video Marketing is very hot…I get calls everyday about the videos.  People want to buy machines or buy parts from us.  If you do it a lot you will become a selling machine.  Another weapon in internet marketing for you.  Don’t forget to make your channel in Youtube play automatic when someone lands on your channel.  That will give you more hits through that main video on your channel.  Always friend people that do the same thing you do…Like Heavy Construction Equipment.  (Like me)  They will comment and you should do too.  If you have time make it a point to learn everything about YouTube.

What I mean with that phrase above is video marketing like a superstar.  There is couple easy tricks you need to learn first:

  • Video your products or information like you know what you are talking about
  • Educate the viewers (i.e. Caterpillar 980H Wheel Loader…talk about tires, hours and so on)
  • After you are done with the video then go to Google Keyword Tool..and do some research on how to get on the first page of Google search page…(I try to look for 300,000 to 500,000 search queries–that is just my opinion)
  • Ok you have your name of the title ready….Now upload to YouTube (you can upload to other video site later)
  • Give a good description for the section below the video….ADD A LINK BACK TO THE YOUR WEBSITE WHERE THAT PRODUCT IS!!!!
  • Give good meta tags that relate to video and description.

Finally repeat this process over and over and over…it should bring you a lot of Sales

Become a Marketing Selling Champion Salesman….by just doing the little things with mailers, emails, direct mail, and promotion gift (i.e. pens with your logo).  Some times you have to do the unexpected for your customers.  Like give them a credit on their bill for returning your equipment early off of rent.  That just an example that I would do.

Marketing is a Trial and Error Process…you need to try what works in your industry.  I do video marketing, blogging, social media, direct mail to contractors, email marketing to the list of 10000 companies, promotion items (hats and pens), and much more.  Make it fun and challenging…you will enjoy it.

I have use other email marketing programs and have not had success.  The one that I am using now is Constant Contact.  What I like about it…that it has the capabilities to share to all my Social Networks by the push of the button.  Plus it tracks the clicks in your email template.  If I was you I have them design your email template after your  website, so all the clicks in your email is track back track to your company website.  And what I mean by tracks, it comes with it own analytics.  To be successful with an email marketing plan you need to make it in engaging and inviting for the customers to contact you.  So try it out…you can’t lose.
